Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Expense Tracker ("the app") is developed by MrNick Apps. This privacy policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data. Expense Tracker uses an account so your data is backed up and available across your devices — and that data belongs to you alone.
1. Data We Collect
The app works with the following data:
- Your financial entries that you enter manually — income, savings, recurring costs, budgets and living expenses (labels, amounts, categories and monthly actuals), plus any saved snapshots
- Email address — used to create and identify your account. Provided directly by you (email sign-up) or by Google or Apple sign-in
- Your settings — your chosen currency and theme
We do not collect your name (beyond what an email address contains), phone number, location, contacts, bank logins, or any bank/card account numbers. Expense Tracker never connects to your bank — every entry is typed in by you.
2. Your Account
Expense Tracker uses an account so your data is backed up and synced across your devices. You can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with Google or Apple, via Firebase Authentication. Passwords for social sign-in are handled entirely by Google or Apple and are never seen or stored by us. Email/password credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see your raw password.
3. Where Your Data Lives
Your entries are stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore, associated with your account ID, and are encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by security rules so that only your own account can read or write your data — no other user, and no third party, can access it.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to any third parties, except as required by the infrastructure services listed below. There is no advertising and no analytics in the app.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore storage) — Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In (optional, if you choose it) — Privacy Policy
- Apple Sign-In (optional, if you choose it) — Privacy Policy
6. Deleting Your Data
You have full control over your data and can remove it at any time:
Clear all entries
In the app, open Settings → Data and tap Clear all entries. This permanently deletes every entry and leaves you with an empty list, while keeping your account.
Delete your account — in the app
To remove your account entirely, open Settings → Data and tap Delete account, then confirm. (For security you may be asked to sign in again first.)
Delete your account by email
If you cannot access the app, you can also request deletion by email:
- Send an email to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account.
- Use the subject line "Delete My Account".
- We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained only while your account remains active. When you delete your account — in the app or by email request — the account and all associated data are permanently deleted (via email request, within 30 days). We do not retain your data after deletion, except where required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
Expense Tracker is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
